Yeah, so about that Cuban pitcher the Phillies reportedly signed. According to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, the Phillies negotiations with Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez have “hit a snag.” It was reported that Gonzalez and the Phils reached a six year, $48MM deal with an $11MM option for a seventh year. It was believed that Gonzalez would join the Phillies by September and be a key part to the 2014 pitching rotation. It remains to be seen if Gonzalez, who is coming off some elbow issues, and the Phillies will ultimately reach a deal.
